Foster parenting can be difficult. There are those times when the children we care for in our homes and living with our families may say things to hurt us. In addition, there are those moments when birth parents may do the same. As foster parents, it is important to remember that we need not take these personal attacks personally. Foster care expert Dr. John DeGarmo, the founder and director of The Foster Care Institute, shares his thoughts on this.
